Anyone know a quick answer to the following: I'm trying to replace my antennae switch with a fog light switch for some new flood lights I installed. Do I need to take out the dash panel to pop it out, or is there an easier way? Wanted to check here before I start with that project. I've taken the dash out so many times already, I'm afraid I'll crack it if I keep pulling it out, so I want to avoid it if possible. Thanks for the help.

I can pop the bottom of the bezel a bit and then usea small screwdriver to push the switch out from the back.

I have also pulled the switch out directly by using an o-ring sharp tipped puller which looks like a small sharp screwdriver. It does mess up the bezel a small bit.

Odds are you will be routing wires and you are better off pulling the entire bezel off. Doesn't take more than 5 minutes removing the screws. Pull carefully because you'll miss a scene or two your first time.

The main cause of cracked bezels is over torqued screws.

To remove the bezel for just the instrument panel, do I also need to remove the upper part with the speedometer and radio, or is there a separate section just for the instrument panel? Thanks again.

The middle bezel on my 62 requires removing two screws hidden by the ash tray.

Why not put it in one of the unused positions? Don't they just pop out?

Is there a map showing what all those unused switch positions on the dash were for?

Don't believe there is a map that shows what the unused spots are for..

My bezel was cracked at all 4 corners and last night I finally got around to using some plastic weld (5 minute set time) stuff and then repainted the bezel last night... seems to holding up pretty good, though I haven't installed yet. Still want to put one more coat of paint on it, then black out the areas that were originally black, then do a satin clear over it for some extra protection.

Have heard of guys using a soldering iron to "Plastic weld" the cracks back together, but also other using the actual Perma-Tex Plastic Weld two part compound to make things right again. I did the latter.

Different models of the 60 in other countries got different switches, depending on whether it was a diesel or GX model etc. Here's one drawing from the '87 turbo diesel

To pop it out you have to remove the bezel, and it's easy to run the wiring in from the firewall once that is removed. I got it all in. I'm trying to figure out a good set up for my satellite radio face. Once I get it I'll submit some pics. Thanks for all the help!
