Installing the GROM VLINE CarPlay unit. Is there a better location the the glovebox where the main unit will fit?

I don't care at all about access to the unit-- just want to install it somewhere out of sight, where it won't take up valuable space. Is there somewhere behind the dash I could use?

For those following along at home, here's where I decided on. Super close to the magsafe charger, so should have good wireless connection to the phone.

How is this location working out? I’d heard people mention it’s good to have it accessible to do a reboot sometimes. Like the idea of not seeing it or having it take up glovebox space.

For one of the (many) updates/resets, the Grom tech had me disconnect the power to the unit. Mine is located under the dash / above the driver's side kick panel. It's just zip-tied to stuff. It's secure and sorta kinda accessible.

Mine is stuffed somewhere between the passenger vent and the glovebox. Can access by popping out the vents.

Hmm. I haven't have to reset it yet, but this would not be super great is that becomes a routine thing i need to do. I think I'd sooner reset it by disconnecting the car battery, really.

Wireless reception has been perfect here.

Would you guys go grom Vline again?

I like the idea of the features it offers while maintaining the factory look, but have heard numerous people say it can be glitchy and needs to be updated frequently… Debating if I should go grom Vline or just get a Bluetooth connector for audio and run everything from my phone or perhaps an iPad mini.

You will want to be able to access it if needed

My Gromm in my LS 430 stopped working after a dead battery. I had to unplug the power to the device and plug it back in to get it to work again

I also don't want it to take up the entire glovebox in my LX. An alternative location would be nice as long as it isn't too difficult to access

I'm considering one for my LX after purchasing for my LS a little over a year ago

There have been glitches here and there (one mentioned above) but it works as expected almost always

My main critique is audio quality, which was to be expected with a BT connection

For the audio quality, you can also try adjusting the audio in the VLine mode of the stereo, through the factory UI. Here is the how-to video:
