on the manual antenna for a '87 FJ60. Does the jack plug directly into the stereo? do I have to remove the dash and pull out the stereo ? About to install the replacement antenna.
what i have seen online-
-remove wiper fluid tank
-can access the bottom part of the antenna through fender wheel well.
first time to do this, have not messed with a car stereo in 35+ years

IIRC you can remove the glove box "liner" and access the jack at the back of the radio, small hands help
yes remove the fluid tank
yes the cord goes directly to the radio

Thanks!! I was about to pull out the stereo, it is an aftermarket Kenwood. The wire/cable on the replacement antenna looks a bit shorter. thank you for the tip.
