I am looking at installing some Hella 500's or 700's on my stock bumper. Is there metal under the plastic? If so, any problems with me drilling into it? Any sensors , etc that I would need to watch out for?

Thanks in advance.

I believe the factory aux light option used brackets that slipped under the grill and then attached to the smaller crossmember in front of the radiator. There is a large steel crossmember under the plastic and foam bumper, but it's not close enough to the top of the plastic bumper to properly attach a lamp bracket. So I would attach to what the green arrow is pointing to, not the red arrow.

Thanks BMT!

Glad I asked cause I probably would have messed it up.

Nice to see that it's doable, but I would leave a tiny little gap between the bracket and the grille bezel. The way he mounted those, they will mar the bezel in short order.
