...sorry if this has been covered before, but:

We recently found that a 5 switch Contura blank fits very nicely into the FJ60 ash tray spot.

There is a small gap on each side, once the panel is centered, but it's not very noticeable once the dash piece is installed.

We're big fans of not cutting up a dash if we don't have to. We found this to be a really handy snap-in solution, using a widely available style of switch.

Where's the link to the switch panel?

I love snap-in solutions. Nice find. Does this panel slide to the left or right once snapped in or is it pretty rigid?

They are available from a number of different places, but here are the numbers from Waytekwire.com

You combine the the 'middles' and 'ends' to make whatever size bank you want. In this case, it's a 5 switch bank.

You can slide the panel left or a right a little. I'm sure it could be shimmed with something on either side to make it rigid. It's not so loose that it just flops around though.

That looks great!

So is the 60 and the 62 ash tray the same size? I was wanting to do the same thing but didn't know if there were any modifications I'd have to do to my 62 dash. Otherwise, I'm in on this one.

The 62 ashtray opening is different, so it's not a snap-in-and-go. You would have to trim and make the opening taller.

Any details about that custom bezel you made? That's slick as heck.

I don't really don't have info about making it. I just welded up some sheet metal. I had two stock bezels and both were broken so I needed something to take their place. I need to label the switches or find some laser etched covers next.
