inside door handle return spring

Hi i have a 94 lc and my drivers side inner door latch doesnt snap back into place when i open the door to step out of the truck. I have to manually return it to the flush position. I want to replace the return spring which im sure is either missing or worn but i cant find its location. Can anyone tell me where on the assembly the spring is located? Thanks.

I just replaced the entire thing. Got it off cruiserparts.net. Super guys to work with.

Is the spring in the handle, or in the door latch?

I couldnt figure that out. I looked at both places.

Reviving this old thread. I have the same problem with my inner door handle. Were you able to replace just the spring, or do you need a whole new assembly?
