A kid that got into wheeling with us a couple of years ago bought an 86 Turbo truck and after rebuilding the motor the turbo seemed to be squealing so off it came to be rebuilt. When we got it off we found a crack in the exhaust side of the housing. Wondering if anyone had one laying around that they might sale.

Need turbo? or exh. manifold?

First off I dont know if this is the right place for this

2nd: I know if you do a search you will find out what I'm fix'n to say

3rd: This is a common problem so to go back to these parts you have been warned, its just to hard to work on thease trucks so you should do the job right and be done with it.

A guy on E-Bay has rebuilt t3-t4 and a custom manifold last time I looked $400

I'm just saying this so you dont have to possably go through this again

2MK, the turbo exh manifold cracking is VERY common, they are very cheap and very old so you get what you pay for.

Or, just have it welded

The CT20 is plagued by heat issues which in turn leads to cracking. It is also not very efficient in producing boost.

With some fab work, a CT26 from a Supra 7M-GTE can be adapted.

With some fab work, or as stated above, a T3/4 can be adapted as well.

This gets the turbo physically bolted up to the engine, tuning the engine to make it all work is where the hard work begins.

The stock fuel system and engine management system on a 22RTE is only good to about 7-8 PSI of boost. After that, it will cut out.

A stand alone engine management system, larger injectors, and pump, as well as a myriad of other things are required to actually get it all to work right.

There is a huge list of old posts on the Yahoogroups 22RTE e mail list. Check em out. There is a ton of knowlege there
