Wondering if anyone has imported a modified vehicle into Canada From the US
Modified as in dual transfercase, lift, bigger than factory spec. tires, ect.

long story .. but a relative wants to pass a 4runner to me that was built by his son that died a couple years back... built solid

but dont know if i could import it do to the modifications... its an 85 so its pass the 15 year mark...

not worried about getting it to the border.. just passing the inspections with a lifted truck and dual transfercase...
i havent said yes or no on taking it yet... just seeing how hard it would be to pass transport canada standards..

bringing it in is not a problem the inspection is the problem. Dual transfers is not an inspection item but the lift is.What most people do is put smaller tires on and alter the lift if possable then pass the test and put everything back on.

Take it to Marigold Auto on Burnside, they didn't say boo about my lift/modifications on the cruiser. Very nice folks, they do a proper inspection but are more concerned with actual problems.
