Woody,
I wanted to create a new thread in the FJ Cruiser forum but when I went to upload a photo I got an error: "The following error occurred: There was a problem uploading your file." At first I thought it was the particular photo (a 48KB jpeg), but then I tried one of the photos that I've successfully attached to a previous post and got the same error. The progress bar moves from 0% to 100%, so I think the file is being transmitted from my computer to the 'mud servers. Is there a problem that you know about? Is there a way I can get a more detailed error explanation other then "there was a problem"?

More information...
I opened the Firefox browser console and found some error messages there:

This site makes use of a SHA-1 Certificate; it's recommended you use certificates with signature algorithms that use hash functions stronger than SHA-1.

I read somewhere that a critical security flaw had been discovered in Adobe Flash and that Mozilla was blocking flash until an updated version was installed. I think I'll try a different browser and see if that helps.

Safari gets the same error.

I can upload any of the problem photos to Google Drive, but that may well be a different upload mechanism.

I'm kinda out of ideas.

OK, Chrome works just fine so I've got a workaround.

Hopefully more users report an issue to help track it down...

If its a flash issue, there isn't a lot I can do...I'll research more today and see if I can find out anything.

Encountered the same generic error message when attempting to attach a photo using Safari today.

So I tried the iPhone. It worked.

Upload, Chrome, iOS...

so...I have no idea...I'm logged in from a parking lot using my Verizon hotspot...my upload permissions are identical to every other user on the forum. The three images I uploaded were all .jpg extensions.

Because I am pretty sure that is not Wisconsin, enjoy your time away, sir . . . !

Oh. Wait.

Forum owner's curse.

Lol. (Right?)

From what I'm finding, the issue started on/about July 14. Flash specific issue, primarily Firefox, but appears to hit Safari as well.

Odd tho that the issue doesn't happen for me with pic uploads. Still unsure why it would occur with one and not others (since an issue like this should result in dozens and dozens of complaints...)

Having the same issue. Please fix.

turned off flash and is worked!!! Thanks woody!!!!!

FYI, effectively immediately, I've simply disabled Flash uploading...too many emails, PM's, etc with problems that cannot be solved...easier to find a new solution down the road.

I started having an issue yesterday. I was able to upload a few images, then uploading additional images into the next post created "place holders" in the post complete with the "click here to see the original size" (or something like that) legend, but the placeholders were blank. Linked those photos from photobuckwet.

This is in both IE and Chrome.

I just tested today and I have the same issue. But it works OK from (you're favorite Woody), the old iphone and/or ipad app.

My $0.02
