I'm looking for a free iPad.

He stands by the used parts he sells.

Prior to the recent name change, due to privacy concerns, on the FJC forum, it's always been my name (I had never participated in any online forum, so knew no better) as user name. Means something to me.

The irony of selling an "unbendable" link, then for the buyer to discover that the touted "unbendable" portion of the link isn't the link end, but the meat of the link, only, sucked for both of us.

A local buddy runs the same links with the same suspension as I and a Dana 60 with no issues, yet I was refused warranty replacement.

Go figure. Hahaha.

Still chat with buyer's cousin (whose now a Mudder) via text, who recently rolled out of the FJC (literally) and into an 80. Think he may have had the same companies UCAs that I sold him, come to think of it, before he rolled the FJC.

Awesome how the shared passion of a vehicle and corresponding activity have shrank the world to the size of an iPhone screen.

I've sent parts all over the US, Australia, Germany and have accumulated a bunch of buddies, along the way, so it's been a great experience for me.

I realize the importance of modern electronics in the school system, especially at a school like UT Austin.

It will be far more useful to have a 13" notebook than an ipad. An ipad has limited uses in an educational framework. It's good for web browsing and reading PDF's, but it's a compromise with everything else.

A lot of instructors use powerpoints, and they'll use them in different manners. One way powerpoints are used is in this manner.

In the above ppt, the red underline words are empty spaces that are supposed to be filled in during the lecture, on the fly. With most 50 minute classes doing about 50 ppts per session, you'd better be real fast. As far as I know of right now, there is no good editor/viewer on the ipad for powerpoints that allows seamless editing and viewing quickly. Don't even think about using the keypad on any tablet. An external keypad is an option.

These ppt's are often uploaded and available to students usually right before class. You have to download them, which comes with some hurdles in an ipad.

Ipad's also lack a USB port, and all students carry a USB stick drive. USB stick drives are used to store, transport, and transfer. With the ipad, you will need to use online storage (wifi isn't always available or fast)

A lot of schools also use some proprietary school or book publsher server/interface system that is not always compatible with ipads. On these sites, homework/quizzes may be given and some just don't work with ipads.

Get a13" notebook, store your school files in one folder and back it up once a week to the cloud. That way, even if your laptop/tablet is broken or stolen (theft is a very common problem) at least your school data is available.

Most schools have educational discount. Apple product discounts suck, maybe 10%. But just about any Windows software can be bought with the discount for $20-$100, so there is another advantage for a notebook.

Good luck.
