Hi all, turns out I'll be working in Ft. St. John starting Tuesday (5th) into Weds. - Thur (13-14th), then I'm taking some time off and are going camping in that area. I should have the 15th -17th off. Any suggestions? maybe I could meet up with some of my Northernly brothers and sisters. Since I will be likely wheeling solo I am going to be looking at some moderate trails with lakes or decent rivers for the night (hopefully), would be good if they were heading towards the Vancouver area as well.
Thanks for any info you can provide.

Sure, give us a call, arron was up here too, but he never ended up calling. # is 250-263-2130. My parents will be up here around that time too, so I don't know if I will have too much spare time especailly with work being so busy.

I haven't explored much down towards Vancouver, except for the Tumbler area, a little in Moberly (Charla would know that area better), and local. There are a lot of areas left to explore, thats for sure.
Cheers,
Deny

I should be around, and may finally have some worthy tires..... Don't know the area well myself though.

Welcome to John, and yeah I guess 12 hour days are pretty normal out here for everyone. I will check your message, but things look bad right now, my parent are up here ripping apart my bathroom, I am working like a dog, so I feel bad, can't even help them out, now I am going to be sent out to do some long hours and won't be around very much at all. I'll call you back around 9-10ish after I finish up some rush things I got to do at work here.
Cheers,
Deny

I'll have the weekend off. RockDoc will likely too. We're probably up for some tame/lame stuff... I can't really think of where to go though. :hhmm:

I wanted to thank Ratpuke and RockDoc for their hospitality and showing me around their "back yard". Deny, sorry you couldn't make it but next time I'm in the area I will get in touch with you guys again, if you'll have me. Any time you're in the Lower Mainland give me shout and I will gladly return the gesture. RockDoc, thanks for the part for my lantern that made the following night much easier, PM me your address and I will send you replacements - don't argue because I will hunt you down :) .
If you guys are interested in the rest of my trip, which is still going on, here you go.

Cool, I had a lot of fun out there. Always nice to get out into the woods, all the better on new tires. I'll PM you my address, glad to hear they worked out for you, wasn't sure if they would be the right size or not.

Yeah sorry I couldn't make it, hope all went well. I know that wasn't the most beautiful scenery there, but unless you wheel through farmers fields, theres not much around here unless you drive a few hours away. Next time you are up here we might all have somemore time.
Cheers,
Deny

I made it home, regrettably, I got back on Wednesday evening and had to be back to work on Thursday. Luckily there is a long weekend coming up and more wheeling! I am going to guess that the swimmer they found was not in good health. I am not surprised that he/she would be downstream a ways, that river does have a good strong current. Nice pics!
