Anyone have a rebuildable 2F or complete 3FE hanging around? I'll be ready (financially) by March I hope. I sure don't wanna go SBC.

While y'all are here Debi may be looking for a 2" or so lift for her 80 if anyone is planning on going bigger with theirs.

Oh, and I'm still looking for a gooseneck. I'm after a 34' deck lowboy, 2 7K axles and brakes.

Not sure what I'm gonna do if we start trailering the 80, the 40 and buggy to events  .

I'm in no hurry for any of the above, but if anyone runs across something gimme a hollar please.

Thanks,

Bull****, go with the chevy(SBC) and enjoy the power, besides your keeping this thing so light that it ain't gonna break anything as long as you go chromo on the axles.

Light, hell the 2F is about 350 lbs heaver than the small block. The other problem is they cost about twice as much to rebuild. But if you really want one Mike I have a rebuildable one.

Well I've managed to find two of them now so I'm good for now.

My 40 is far from light .. the Budget Buggy on the other hand will be light. I've considered the 6.2 diesel but I guess I'm old school... I still like the torque of the 2F.

Nothing wrong with old school.;)

My .02 Mike. If you're gonna tow the 40 to events, don't bother building a motor; just get someone's used takeout. Rebuilt engines shine mostly on the long highway drives. They ALL shine in the torque band, rebuilt or not.

I know'd you'd support my anti-Chevy movement sir! It still pulls okay and I don't drive 'er much on the highway, but she's sure take'n to smok'n lately. Which really ain't all bad cause it keeps the skeeters away when we're on the trail but I don't think too many folks care for that kind'a repellant.

I'll take a look at 'em when I get 'em to the shop and see what they need.

This is gonna start sounding like tech (sorry y'all).... One of 'ems a late 2F out of a 60 and IIRC I can swap a 3fe head, intake and header on to it with some different pistons and get EFI... gonna have to find the Pirate thread to make sure :tech off:

In true White Trash fashion, I swap a case a beer (light beer at that) for one a the motors..... Purdy sure that's how I got into this here club was swap'n parts for beer :hillbilly:

If you like the torque of the 2F you would love the torque of the 6.2 L, it's about 1.5 x torque of the 2F.

Sorry bout the tech s*** Kowboy, but some of us actually like it.:)

Put the chevy in and propane it. Have the badass sound of a V8 and all those RPM's to use. I really don't see any other option even worth considering. Comeon and get with the program. Like Kowboy says" Join the movement" .

He don't need the torque from the engine sir.

Gear the sumbitch down with an Atlas and deep gears in the pumpkins.

Then throw the chevy in there ...

so ya got the ponies to pull The Beater 'round. :grinpimp:

Ain't nuthin' wrong with lil' tech s*** once-in-awhile sir.

I don't know about that. I drove Josh's truck on a short trail at the Jambo, and I was impressed by the torque that thing has. Kinda cool to be able to idle at less than 600rpm up obstacles. :grinpimp:

exactly why i like my 2f :D

I think I remember that the small block encourages "frame breakage" :flipoff2:

Later,

The problem with me a v-8 is my obsessive compulsive side takes over and won't stop build'n the dang thing til it is a drag motor. At least when this happens with the 2F (and it already has) I still have a usable motor.

My new 2F project now has a 3fe head, intake and fuel injection waiting to go on it. I stopped short of adding a turbo charger to it :hillbilly:
