I’m on the hunt for a 2021 or older Tundra too. I can’t get behind the twin turbo, V6 complicated tech. I prefer tried and true and simple.

I like your build so far! I think rebuilding the shocks would deter me from getting serviceable Kings or the like. There are shops that can be trusted, but I am often reminded why I do my own work.

What bumpers are you looking at?

Agreed, I'm ok with it because I have a shop nearby that does great work on shocks. I think they're even one of the few Dobinsons certified shops in the country. Otherwise I'd just run a regular shock.

Bumpers - I'm interested in is the SS Built prerunner front bumper. But I've heard their wait times are pretty long.

Rear I would probably go a high clearance bumper like this one:

There's a fabricator on the Tundra forum that makes a nice high clearance rear but I can't remember his name... @CaptRussia253 knows, I think he has that bumper

Same handle here, just not as active!
@ikarus if you have any questions about bumpers feel free to message me. I love how the new build is coming along. Definitely a nice stable of past Toyotas as well!

I like the way this looks. Clean.

The rear high clearance is nice, the front high clearance however, is difficult for me to like. Maybe it’s the picture, but it looks bulky and boxy while disrupting the tundras original lines that make it handsome. I like the standard front bumper he makes better.

The market is rough out there. I’m glad I don’t need to buy a vehicle right now; what a crap time to buy. Maybe it’ll get better soon.

I still have a 2006 DC 4x4 that I putt around in, but she’s tired at 245k and I’m looking to make her my primary “farm use” vehicle.

Yeah agreed. I used to love buying cars pretty frequently but I'm taking a break for a while. Just hanging onto what I have paid off. And the Tundra market especially is funny with the new V6 engine failures. Seems like a good low mileage 2.5 gen is $35-50K and the 3rd gens are similar if not lower sometimes.

Awesome thank you! Will do, you do great work.

Yeah. The lingering Covid quality issues and the bearing-eating problem are not helping 3rd gen resale at all. They’re even doing discounts off of new trucks. Seems unusual for Toyota
