The problem is that when I turn the truck to ‘start’ the key doesn’t spring back to on and the starter continues to fire until I manually move the key back to the ‘on’ position. Is this the key cylinder or would it be the ignition switch?

Ok…well I removed the cylinder and it doesn’t spring back on its own from start to on…it catches a little and I have to manually do it. Just not sure if this is normal and maybe the spring is in the switch. More digging I guess

Looks like the switch is faulty. You can slot a flat blade screw driver to the switch (round plastic part connected to harness) slot to see if turns without catching.
