The only regret I have is not buying a second car sooner. Maintenance and projects were no longer driven by what could be done in a weekend. I no longer had to guess on what parts I would need. I could take two weeks to do a front end axle seal, clean and paint everything. Working on the cruiser became fun when I stopped racing a clock.
This is great advice. My cruiser sat in the garage for over a year while I was trying to source a new old stock wiring harness (1994). It was nice not stressing about getting it up and running asap.

Same with any major job that once torn open you find additional things that need to be replaced. No rush = not putting it back together "temporarily" while you wait for parts.
