This is great advice. My cruiser sat in the garage for over a year while I was trying to source a new old stock wiring harness (1994). It was nice not stressing about getting it up and running asap. The only regret I have is not buying a second car sooner. Maintenance and projects were no longer driven by what could be done in a weekend. I no longer had to guess on what parts I would need. I could take two weeks to do a front end axle seal, clean and paint everything. Working on the cruiser became fun when I stopped racing a clock.
Same with any major job that once torn open you find additional things that need to be replaced. No rush = not putting it back together "temporarily" while you wait for parts.
