Idle problem, reverse engine rotation

Ok, so once apond a time I was into VWs, (going to pay for that ), My 66 ghia would run fine most of the time but started to develope simular problems. It was the coil.

Update for anyone who cares, and for those who may experience a similar problem in the future... It ended up being the ignition module and the coil. Replaced them both yesterday and it's running great. Weird stuff.... I'm just glad it's working again!

congrats buddy! I know that feeling when your trucks broke and you can't figure out why. It's a terrible place and I don't like being there!

Let out the clutch in gear when you shut it off. That will fix it.



Or, you could tune it up.

Allow me to explain:

Letting out the clutch will stop that "crazy reverse spin action" right away.

Are you sure that you don't have an obstructed exhaust pipe or muffler?

Pinhead, see my last post before you replied. It was the coil and ignition module. The exhaust is clear. She runs again, and runs very well at that.
