I would like your old axle shafts

Hey all,

If you're binning axle shafts - I'd like them please. Much of the tools I'll be smithing for myself will come from this metal. Apparently the right kind the steel for smithing strong smith tools.

I'll be down for cruiser days and can collect then. Any help appreciated

Really cool process to see. I'm looking at different forge designs and going gas not charcoal. Problem you have with gas is getting the temperature of the steel up enough to hot weld with a gas forge but it can be done. In the pics Mat shared, the guy's set up on the folded steel for hot welding would be interesting know - its gas. At the temperatures he's working at - steel will actually combust and be reduced to nothing.
