no thats all right that one in the pick is mine. hers is fine. i ran up on that side cause it was already damaged. i have to take parts off that are good for hers. she just don't like when i run up on s*** or ram things.

. . . one of the things I got was some of that seal **** to pour into the oil. It is supposed to exspand.....bla bla. I think that did it in. I was going to change it anyway I was just hoping it would hold up for another week.

 Be careful of automotive snake oil - things like Trans Seal, BARS Leak, Engine Restore, etc. usually damage more than they fix.

The only "tech-in-a-can" that I put any faith in is Sea Foam and Marvel Mystery Oil

I like seafoam but if there is carbon like in the injecters and stuff it will brake it loose. Some people dont understand that and say"oh no I am getting worse MPG's" but you have to give Seafoam time ,it will work out the crap but in the end its best just to replace or have them cleaned. I used it alot in my 62 and it did wonders if you use it often.

Marvel is good for unlocking moters. I have not used the old formula in some time but when my runner sit for a while(you remember me telling you I poured a little down the cy. holes just in case it locked up) but that was the new formula and I think that was the discoloration on the top of the cy. walls you pointed out....no harm done but just looked diffrent.
good old marvel mystery oil. do they still sell that i could use some more of it but have not seen it in a while.

Oh yeah, still available, I got a quart bottle just a few weeks ago. From what Cruiser is saying though, it sounds like they changed it a bit? Really close to trans fluid anyway from what I've heard. My biggest use is in my air tools . . . and every other oil change.

air tools never thought of using it in those. but i used it all the time in my older stuff oil trans and fuel tank. i probably would use it again but not in fuel tank. not sure how well injectors would react to it. and all the trans's i have used it on were automatic. not sure if i would use it in a manual. and now a new use air tools.

Some of the engineers I work with are currently suggesting it's use in the fuel tank of newer cars to some of the technicians I work with to help "unstick" sticky valves and clean things out a bit - so no problem with compatibility there.

I wouldn't use it in any transmission, too thin for a MT especially, but that's just me.

Ok..................got it all apart and here is the trouble with the sleeve.

Its not using the sleeve itself. The problem lies that when you sleeve a balencer you need a seal to match.

Why mine lasted as long as it did is because upon install I greased everything good. If the diameter of the balencer is increased with the sleeve and you dont have a seal to match the seal will burn up and that is what happned to my seal.............the outside of the seal went first and when that went the spring inside the seal groved the sleeve.

All is solved.
