I need info on a dash instrument swap/upgrade

I am looking for info on a dash instrement switch out.

I have a late 1984 (actually 1985 as it is EFI) 2wd pickup camper that has a spedo cable and no RPM tach in the dash.

I just put in a tranny from a 1992 so it is now has and electric pickp sensor for the spedo.

I would like to switch out the dash for one that will be compatable with the electric spedo pickup on my new tranny and I would like one with a tach too.

Is there a model or year of pickps that has this combo of dash that I can swap into my truck? Maybe a late 1980's model? I may also be interested in getting the spedo to work with the stock dash as I could add an aftermarket tach later. But if there is a stock toyota replacement that will bolt in I would rather go that route.

Open to any suggestions or info on this type of swap.

oh poop! not sure if that will work, as the electrical speedo goes through the computer first.

the best advise i can give is get wiring diagrams for your rv , and for the vehicle the trans come out of.

I think you'll have to use a cable speedo to get what you want. Will the cable you have screw into the trans that you swapped in? If it will than you just need to find an 84-88/89(4Runner) 4 cylinder dash. The biggest thing to remember is to get the oil pressure sender and swap it in before you event think about putting the new dash in. You will fry your new oil pressure gauge if you hook it up to the idiot light switch..

I don't think that any of the 84-88/9 trucks had electric speedo's... But I've been wrong before....
