Okay guys, my brakes suck. And I mean, they suck BAD. I can stomp on the brake peddle with both feet and not lock up the tires. No matter how hard I try to stop, the truck still just slows to a stop but never really has that Immediate stopping feel.

I did the front pads last year and it really made no difference. My ABS light has been on for over a year, and I assume that has a bit to do with it.

My wife has given me the go-ahead to put down some $$$ to help my brakes out. I need some help from you guys to see what you have done to improve your stopping power. First on my list is some good replacement brake lines. Im looking for some recommendations.

Slee braided uppers and then some new caliper/banjo hose as well. You can also use 100 series pads up front.

Rebuild all calipers, brake flush, hawk lts pads, abs removal, new oem axle to caliper lines that'll make it stop on a dime

Ive been looking for caliper rebuild kits with no luck. I did come across a toyota part # but I was hoping to not have to pay dealership prices.

My ABS light has been on forever, so I assume the ABS is non-functioning. Would removing the ABS stuff increase brake performance over just leaving non-functional parts installed??

Im probably going with the Man-a-fre stainless brake line kit that includes all 7 stainless lines. When the lines are off, Im sure I will just let all the old fluid drain, and flush with new fluid afterwards.

Don't let all the fluid drain, you will never get all the air out of the abs modulator

I have a set of clipper rebuild kits. Got e, from napa. I needed up getting new calipers instead. I think they were 40$ out the door ill sell em for half if you want em

Yes, there's a thread on mud about it, I'm doing it for simplicity lol

I did some reading and found the ABS Delete Thread. Doesn't look terribly difficult at all. Just T a couple lines, and connect a couple others... I think im going to do this too.

Got my rotors today. I have to clean the garage and make room for the FJ80 to sit for a week or so while I get it all taken care of. This should be fun :)

i have to do the same. my new calipers and hoses need to be installed soon. i think im going to do the ABS delete as well. not like i could lock em up with 37s anyways unless it was on ice. and with or without ABS on ice your F***ed

Im going to get the T fittings needed to bypass the ABS brain. Do you know what thread the brake lines coming from the ABS brain are?? I want to make sure i get the right stuff.

Probably going to do an oil change and tune-up on my wifes car, then park the truck in the garage for a week or so while I do the brakes, rebuild the calipers, and might re-seal my birfs while im in there getting dirty.

I think i have it under control. Im not even sure when I will find the time to start the operation. I was planning on starting this weekend, but i ran out of time so its being pushed off until next payday.

With the way my children are, i expect to get a couple hours at best on my wifes days off... the other days the truck will just sit in the garage waiting.
