Doug,

I did smash the DS when jacking the body up for a body lift (I would much rather it have been from something on the trail but :meh:). But I decided, what the heck, I'll cut them. Its not like I haven't already gone well beyond the point of no return :hillbilly:.

Here's the tires and wheels on the truck:

I'll paint the rims flat black soon. And I'm waiting on 3" flexible corrugate drain tubing for the snorkel. 2" was a bit small. The only place that carries it is Home Depot (only one on the island), and they have been waiting on a shipment for nearly 8 weeks now. The story of Guam. At least I found herculiner (no durabak). The only color was black, so I went with it.

The lugs on these tires slap the crap out of you below 15mph! At 35mph they have a nice hum. I haven't taken them out yet, but I will post when I do. Man-a-fre was out of bumpstop extensions, so I made my own out of 2"x2"x1/8th" thick mild steel. I think I'm going out this weekend. I Need to finish the rocker chop though, and then the sliders...always something else to do!

Cutting metal is so freeing! And there's nothing like 38" tractor tires...:grinpimp:

Ok, above 40mph is scary. I have a lot of steering wheel wobble, but I have that a little bit with my 305/70's (retreads that were only balanced with dynabeads and are probably slightly out of round), which makes me believe I could have some front end issues. These tires are only rated to about 25mph anyway, so I'm pushing the envelope driving them around on terrible roads at speeds well above the tire rating. I believe they should hold their own on the trail...
