So you are going with the PTO delete gear and are able to use the good part of the output from the transmission? Just did mine on my FJ73 and had absolutely no wear on the transmission output shaft. I always thought the gear was a lesser grade of metal, being the sacrificial part.
Yes I remembered it. I do wonder how much such a flimsy little thing actually does anyway? But I made sure I got one just in case. The original one was brittle and broke when I tried to remove it to clean up, hence my annoyance that the rebuild kit didn't have one.Remember the 5th gear oiler when you reassemble! I know you are aware of it in the comment, I was so paranoid that i was going to forget!!!!
