I have 77 FJ40 with a LS 6.0 , been running stock break booster for yrs and have 4 wheel disks all around with very little issues on 40” swampers . Just wondering what the pro ‘s and cons of hydroboost brake system . Or
Maybe even a mini truck booster Thank you

I only run 35’s, but I’m happy with a mini truck booster and master. I run the Monte Carlo rear disc set up hard to say a 40s would necessitate Hydro boost. Hope that helps.

I had what was supposed to be stock booster on my 7000+ lb build with Dana 60's and discs all around, and it didn't want to stop.
Hydroboost system was a great answer, already had the power steering pump on the 6bt to run it, and it saved significant room in the engine compartment.
Game changer on stopping power. Absolute confidence.

what are your goals with changing parts? Reminder, a brake booster by iteslf does not really decrease a vehicle's stopping distance, it reduces pedal effort required to achive the same hydraulic pressure in the brake lines.

I’d go with the hydroboost personally. I ran a mini-truck vacuum booster over 20 years. Hard to get it to fit on the firewall, should have just gone to the simplicity of the hydroboost much sooner. IMO, WAY more stopping power with 37”s
