Well my wife refuses to tent it any more and I agree due to the fact that it is a little hard with a one year old. We have been looking into tent trailers and travel trailers for quite some time. We have borrowed a family members tent trailer and althouh we like being able to pull it anywhere there is not much room for storage of camping gear. We are settled on getting a travel trailer when I am done with school next year. I have started searching for one already cause I have the camping itch bad! I am pretty set on the idea of getting a hybrid travel trailer. If you are not familiar with "hybrids" they are a shorter, usually lighter travel trailer, with "tent" beds that tip out on each end and occationally a dining or other bed tip out on the side. The only downfall I have heard of is the condensation much like other tent trailers or tents.

So does anybody have experience with hybrids? Or know of anyone wih one? If you could let me know that would be great! In the mean time we will be borrowing the tent trailer until we can afford a travel trailer.

Btw this will be towed with my 5.7 tundra with 4.30 gears, but I have faith that the 80 will be more than capable of towing the trailer I am planning on.

I've had one for less than a year. So far I'm pretty happy with it. There are times when it's a bit of extra work than a regular trailer, like when you have to fold up the beds just to go dump the tanks. It's smaller size has come in handy in parking lots and on tight trails.

My biggest beef is the poor ground clearance...

What make/model do you have? Have you considered the "portable" waste Holding tanks? Then you can dump in that and not have to move.

The unit I am considering is a rockwood roo in the 21ss or 23ss.

The 23ss on bottom

I find the concept appealing.

do check how much storage room you lose when the beds are folded in, though.

From what I can tell, I will need to make up the bedding upon setup. So whatever blankets and pillows will need to be stored in other cabinets or on sofa/ dining area.

At this point the 21ss looks more appealing due to a little extra leg room when the dinette and sofa are expanded. Ive really got the itch for one, I hate having to wait for toys! Lol

all those tip outs and slide outs add weight and more chances for leaks. In the PNW I think the hybrids suck. One of our friends has one and its cold in the winter and you have to make sure you open up again when you get home if it was put away wet. To each his own but I have a small 14' trailer and it fits my family of 3 fine. It doesn't have a spot for a potty which is its only downfall which we will change in the next trailer of approx. the same size. prob a Bigfoot
