This was not intended to be a Hundy-only day, but the Hundy folks are the only ones who ended up being able to attend...

@landylover21 had asked in another thread whether people in the Albany area wanted to meet up and drool over each other's LCs.

We-- @tpatrickmc and @landylover21 and @PaulLx470 ended up meeting in my neighborhood, Stone Ridge, for breakfast, then we went down to some DEC land and did a trail ride there.

My husband was supposed to drive his Hundy, bailed at the last minute, and offered it up to our friend Jaff instead. Jaff had no offroading experience and I think he smiled the entire time. I was glad I wasn't sitting in the truck with him because I probably would have been backseat driving. Turns out, he didn't need any help. In the pics., he is driving the snorkeled Thundercloud.

His wife, Louise, rode with me, and we laughed at each other's inappropriate jokes, all the while enjoying the scenery and the beautiful weather. I tried to get her to drive, to no avail. Next time.

Patrick led the entire time. The trail had two places where we scouted for each other. On our way out we checked out an abandoned 1700s (I think) stone house. Then we drove over to another trail, had a quick lunch, and ran down that trail. That one had been recently graded, so all of the interesting parts were gone.

At that point Jaff and Louise took our other Cruiser home and the rest of us drove to Ellenville. We drove up to a breathtaking overlook, watched the hang gliders and snapped some photos, and headed back to town for beer and dinner at Aroma Thyme. My husband joined us for dinner, while @landylover21 and his friend headed to Cobleskill.

It was a gorgeous day to enjoy with new friends.

The best part? Jaff is looking at Hundies...

Had a blast today, except for the migraine headache I had for 3/4 of the afternoon!

All stock suspension? I need new tires on mine, probably going to go with the BFG Ko2s in that size.

Yes, my AHC works flawlessly, so I am not changing out suspension until it goes bad. But, when in H mode and with the 275/70/18's, you will be surprised how many places you can go. Good luck with whatever tire you go with, but again I have had the KO2's and prefer these Coopers. Just my humble opinion :)

Looks like all had a great day. Would love to do a ride when the kiddos get a little older. I grew up in Upstate NY and my wife's family is from Cobleskill. I am about 1 1/2 from Catskills now.

I like them all but that red one sure is sharp.

Looks like a blast ! Was there any opportunities to camp along these trails? I live pretty close to the Catskills and would love to join you on the next run you make.

Yes, you can camp almost anywhere up there. The first run was on the Lundy Rd. in Napanoch, now owned by NYS. The other one is also owned by New York. That was on Trails End from Kerhonkson to Sundown. There is signage indicating where you may camp. It is dispersed camping.

We would love to have you! Might have to do another run in the fall when the colors start to change...
