This was not intended to be a Hundy-only day, but the Hundy folks are the only ones who ended up being able to attend...
@landylover21 had asked in another thread whether people in the Albany area wanted to meet up and drool over each other's LCs.
We-- @tpatrickmc and @landylover21 and @PaulLx470 ended up meeting in my neighborhood, Stone Ridge, for breakfast, then we went down to some DEC land and did a trail ride there.
My husband was supposed to drive his Hundy, bailed at the last minute, and offered it up to our friend Jaff instead. Jaff had no offroading experience and I think he smiled the entire time. I was glad I wasn't sitting in the truck with him because I probably would have been backseat driving. Turns out, he didn't need any help. In the pics., he is driving the snorkeled Thundercloud.
His wife, Louise, rode with me, and we laughed at each other's inappropriate jokes, all the while enjoying the scenery and the beautiful weather. I tried to get her to drive, to no avail. Next time.
Patrick led the entire time. The trail had two places where we scouted for each other. On our way out we checked out an abandoned 1700s (I think) stone house. Then we drove over to another trail, had a quick lunch, and ran down that trail. That one had been recently graded, so all of the interesting parts were gone.
At that point Jaff and Louise took our other Cruiser home and the rest of us drove to Ellenville. We drove up to a breathtaking overlook, watched the hang gliders and snapped some photos, and headed back to town for beer and dinner at Aroma Thyme. My husband joined us for dinner, while @landylover21 and his friend headed to Cobleskill.
It was a gorgeous day to enjoy with new friends.
The best part? Jaff is looking at Hundies...
