There are some instructions on how to do this in this thread, but it was somewhat difficult to find, and there are some slight differences with the UZJ100, so I thought I'd create a separate thread in the hopes someone in the future can find this easier.

- Part Number: 5890760050
- I didn't have much luck when searching for this part using the term "land cruiser" but there are a bunch on ebay with "LX 470". It is the same part.

Problem image shown below: hinge breaks where the lid is connected, requiring a full hinge replacement.

1. As written in the linked instructions, unscrew the high low range knob and pry the center panel up from the cup holders. Disconnect the driver and passenger seat heater connectors (if applicable) and the PWR/2ND connector.
- I was able to keep the car in Park while doing this; a little jimmying got it done.
2. As written in the linked instructions, removed the screws holding the center console in.
- Loosening the rear bolts that hold the driver and passenger seats to the frame, and removing the front bolts allows you to tilt the seats up and back, making the front screw a lot easier to reach. Worth the time in my opinion.
3. Different from linked instructions, pop the rear cup holders out and unscrew the 2 (not 4) screws (image below):

4. As written in the linked instructions, remove/pry the back of the console off.
5. Different from the linked instructions, disconnect the intra-console charger by disconnecting the white connector at the base of the rear of the console (image below):

6. As written in the linked instructions, remove the 4 bolts from the bottom of the inside of the console
7. You should now be able to completely remove the center console from the car.

8. There are 10 screws that hold the inner black piece to the outer shell; 6 of these are tucked away ("1x and 4x" image) and 4 attach to the lid (other image)

9. At this point you can pull the large "inner console" out, and then unscrew the 4 screws that hold in the console tray (image below):

10. At this point you can replace the hinge. The correct orientation is shown below:

At this point, you are good to go backward through the steps to put everything back together. Note that when you are putting the inner black console back into the outer shell, you will need to unscrew two screws holding the the hinge, and the re-screw them in OVER the inner black console (indicated by the blue arrows below):

Hope this helps someone in the future
