I'm getting ready to install a new 22RE long block in my 1990 4x4 5-speed Pickup. Can you guys give me some hints or point me in the direction of a good tech write-up?
In particular, I'm looking for:
1. A list of tools that I need but might not have.
2. A list of things (gaskets, hoses, wires and doohickies) that would be nice or crucial to change while I'm in there.

iGracias!

I’ve got the gaskets and the injector o-rings taken care of.
Is there any recommended PM to the intake, TPS or other parts that are going to bolt back up to the new block.

Thanks,

One thing you could do is pull a couple of throttle bodies off engines in the yunk yard. I did it becuase they where cheap and pently of 22re celicas in the yard. From there I compaired them to find the one with the least wear from the throttle plate and the one that seemed to move freely. Sounds to me like you shoud have everything in order. This is also a good time for a new fuel filter and maybe start contacts?? since you're in there.
