I take a look at the manual over the weekend and review. By passive mode are you saying FOB must lock the car and set the alarm? yes, I have RS3000
 
No,

Passive means that the alarm automaticly arms a short time after the last door is closed. In the passive mode, the vehicle will arm its self but will not "auto lock" the doors. The doors would need to be locked by the remote or manually buy the lock buttom on the driver's door.
 
:doh: serious brain fart on my behalf... I know what passive means. I'll read the manual this weekend. I have not done any programing to the alarm since I bought my 80 (well except change the batteries)
