So I pulled my compressor in order to R and R the AC system and cant figure out how to get the belt in front of the the motor off. I found the adjuster at the top front of the engine and have undone the adjuster bolt quite a bit and still cant get a enough slack to free the first main belt so that I can take my AC compressor belt off.

OK, so which belt can't you get off? The AC belt or the PS belt?

For both tensioners/idlers, you loosen the bolt in the center of the pulley, then loosen the long adjuster bolt so the pulley can travel inwards and loosen the belt. Once it's at the inner limit, you should be able to wriggle the belt off.

Okay so there are three belts. Front belt, middle belt which is AC and back belt which is alternator I think. So the ac belt is just hanging there because I took the compressor off. I need to take the front belt off so I can get the middle ac belt off.

So the pulley that has the adjuster is an idler pulley and is the the pulley that I loosen the bolt in?

got it guys.. thanks...

in order to loosen the tension yes you must loosen the bolt on the idler pulley , just follow where you see the tension bolt down to each idler pulley there are 2 . there is one at the top and one on the bottom , the bottom one I think you have to reach it from underneath .. i just changed all my belts on mine , to change the all the belts i didnt need to take the fan off or the fan shroud , i just fed the belts around the fan
