if you do end up with more than one, i would be interested in a set of alloys please

doug(who is grasping at straws here)

I also need rear window wiper motor for the same 91 FJ80

If folks are serious, I will buy more than one 80... many of the parts people are asking for will be spares for me. Small stuff like interior parts and such will probably come out the first rig as I won't need those things. So for larger items e-mail me at syncroboy@hotmail.com - tell me what you want, what it is worth to you, and if you will place the money up front. As nice as I would like to be, I don't want to invest another $2k+ of my play $$$ in other people's parts. :flipoff2: I am not looking to retire off of parting out a Landcruiser or two... so just chill out!

The second rig is a 96, coming up early-mid Feb.

If sending money up front worries you, well... toooooo baaaaad. Check my feedback at ebay user bmjowett ... you can also search me out on line... been around since the mid 90's.

bjowett,
Is there a auction site to search or find out what vehicles are at auction?

That was like telling the board something was cheap on ebay. I hope it doesn't drive up the prices.

bjowett. Do you have any pics of the rollovers?
What is 03 Tacoma Double Cab (hers) US Special Forces Approved!?
I would love get get a fixer upper damaged 80, I, as with others, would have a hard time investing $$$ into a vehicle that you have no idea how the drivetrain works.
How do you tell if the drivetrain, frame etc is in good shape?

I can get pictures.

US Special Forces are using modded Toyota Tacoma D-cabs to hunt the bad guys over in Afghanistan... Hummers stick out like a sore thumb. The Tacos blend in.

I can't get complete vehicles for rebuilding (yet), only for parting out. The place I deal with dosn't sell "builders"... Some places do. If that changes, I will let you know.

Damage can be an issue. They take 5 pictures of the vehicle, and give desription code for the damage type. Rollover, front end, side, vandalism, burn etc etc. Some vehicles may also be viewed in person. There can be unknown damage, you have to be careful, look at the pictures, if the front end is punched in, chances are the engine got a good shove into the firewall and could be a paper weight... a rollover could have been left running upsidedown - they usuallly stall right out, but ya never know.... just like anything else, you can do really well, or not so well.

I snagged the 94 last week... all said and done back at the yard for $1600. 108k, there is now a spare part for just about anything on my truck. Go price a 100k mile 1FZ - you are looking at a minimum of $1500 from any yard that knows what they have.

Boy did I screw up. I paid $2000 for a new T-case when I could of had a whole 80 for less :'(

You did not screw up... you paid going rates for salvage parts. I'm lucky in that I got inside line to purchase these trucks wholesale, and I have no problem sharing the deal. Life is no good if one dosn't let others play with the ball, or worse yet, takes it home alone.

I was going to get a used t-case but they wanted $800 range plus $100 core charge plus shipping. I wanted to keep the old t-case.
The problem with a used t-case is if it was towed with 2 wheel on the ground and 2 up, there could be damage to the VC.

He is referring to the stock tacos used by the US Special Forces in the middle east recently...

i've got a 94 with grey interior and would kill for the factory dome lights if you have any. thanks vic

How strong are the average FZJ-80 frames,

What gets wacked / and makes them un fixable most ?

last newby Question, How much is Car Insurance for FZJ-80's

compared to say a 4Runner .( Full coverage for both )?
I pay $40.00 for the 4Runner as of now.

I may have some extra birfs... I will PM you when I get things sorted.

There are grey dome lights in that tan interior... that was once grey (don't ask). Make an offer. :)

The frames are beefy - this frame is not hit, it would make a great frame for a project. I've considered buying these rollovers and plopping early body types on them. A 55 or 60 series with a complete FZJ80 running gear would be awesome.
