How do you find a quality dog breeder?

Sensitive much, Nancy?

Check the genetics very carefully. Poorly bred labs can have a ton of health problems. Check out hunting forums (even though you do not want a hunting dog.) They always have discussions about genetic problems in certain lines. There are also some very knowledgable lab guys here on Mud. I ran a litter by Fly Rod a couple of years ago before my buddy bought a dog to see what he thought. Don't get hung up on what coat color you want. Find a good litter and get whatever color you can.

And guys quit bagging on wobster for posting pics of his pooch. I want to see more pics.

I can't believe that no one has suggested that Zack check out Beast Forums for suggestions. There are lots of dog breeders on that site.

You forgot to add that they shed a lot.

Oh, and it could be worse. I have a six year old weim who's still a fxxxing spaz.

how bout a half lab/weim...

Welcome to my world :D

I "adopted" her from the local Lab rescue place. She was a mistake when the gate was left open and the Montagues and the Capulets got to play together ;)
BTW, the Adoption was ~$300.

He showed up on our doorstep one day. We put up signs, called the pound, talked to local vets.. Nothin. Perfect black lab that apparently nobody wanted..

He is amazingly sweet and would have made a great hunting dog.. But he hates car rides, gives him the shakes..
