I’ve been cleaning it out with a small drill bit and it’s going in about 1-1.5”. Should there be vacuum at this port when running? I hooked a hand vacuum pump to it when shutdown and it holds vac., like it’s plugged.

that doesn't go into the manifold, it's actually a through port to one of the 3 ports on top of the EGR valve modulator. It's known to get plugged up, if you can get the hose off the other side you can keep running your drill through it till you clear out the entire pipe. I'd say you're around half way there if you've gone 1.5" so far.

I think I just had a lightbulb moment, so that is how the EGR connects to the VSV? I’ve been looking at the drawing in the shop manual and it wasn’t clicking.
