how come when saving pictures

just curious, i lost some of my pics on my pc that i had posted earlier on mud and when "right click save" to save it to the hard drive it only lets me save it as a bitmap .when i uploaded a jpeg to the site . i've just recently noticed this .is it new or is it my P.C. just a bit of a hassle to convert them back to jpeg .

used to be able to save them as jpeg
