I just finished my links last night for the rear 4-link I've been planing to build for years. I am going to run my soa shackle reversal in front, coil overs in rear keeping my 35's. I was thinking about 12" coilovers, but what do some of you guys with coilover experience think. I plan to mount them straight up and down through the floor. More coilover or less?

I know how big it is, as far as lift over stock. I built the spring over, shackle reversal like seven years ago. I am redoing the rear as a 4-link and coilovers. I just wanted some opinions on how big or HOW LONG the coilovers I buy should be. I was thinking 12" travel

Is it stretched at all? How much body is there left? What travel shocks are you running in the front?

14" at least

my wheel base is about 95" and most of the body is still there. I am not too concerned about hacking out the fenders, and cutting holes in the rear bed. I think my fronts are 10" but it's been a long time. I used the ford shock towers in the front.

personally i would use the longest travel shocks i could fit in there, like 16's, you'll have to restrict your uptravel now, but you never know, you might wind up tubing out the back or moving all your components over to a tube frame someday...

wow, 16" that's really long, My only concern with that was having the cruiser unbalanced. Having too much rear travel, compared to the front. I just wouldn't know how it would wheel set up like that. My front is really dialed in and I am not going to change it.

My set-up is similar to yours in the front - SOA/SR. I tubed the rear of my Cruiser and did the 4-link. I am running 16" travel air shocks, and it works great. You can always limit the travel of the shocks if you need to.

16 inch gets my vote also, I'm backwards though, Coil overs front SOA rear, scores 1306 on a 20 degree ramp.

i've got soa 60 series leaf springs in the front and 16" coil overs in the back, took mine out this weekend for the first run since i 4 linked and tubed out the rear and it was just freaking great, an amazing improvement.... i don't think you have to worry about an unbalence of suspension or anything like that just get all the travel you can in the back and enjoy!

I hear you guys, you'r probably right. It's 2 am and i'm finishing up my upper link frame mounts down at the machine shop. What do you all think I should buy as far as the spring rates for my coilovers? I've seen'em 150lb-ft and 350lb-ft.
