Can't believe I'm looking to get into another cruiser but it's a bit different this time as it would be for my mom. She drives very little she just needs a safe reliable truck in bad Michigan weather and roads, she prefers a larger vehicle. It wouldn't be for me to lose my mind dumping disgusting sums of time and money into trying to make it perfect, or at least fight the urge to do that haha.

Considering that and considering that it's impossible to find one rust free in the Midwest what do you guys think of this rust?

Not bad. Mostly surface rust that can be mitigated and prolonged with fluid film or wool wax treatments annually.

What ever rust you see probably more you don't looks savable depends on price if it's not cheap I would buy one in a rust free area and pay shipping as I hate rust and I would expect to do lot of work on any old truck I know I bought one cheap spent 2x fixing it over what I paid for it

My 06 looks similar. Just surface rust and unsightly. I don't know why 100s tend to get this rust. My 80 is spotless. I just started sraying rust converter on my 100 , brushing it off and then spraying it with rust prevention.
