Horse Thief Lake

I picked up an old Grumman canoe last weekend. I'm heading up to CK to visit Horse Thief Lake tomorrow morning if anyone that's never been wants to tag along.

Not the best lake to paddle on.......its pretty small.
My favorite lake to canoe on is Blue Ridge Reservoir up on the rim.

Also, Watson Lake in Prescott is just the right size, depth, and surrounded by boulders. Great for kayaking or canoeing,

Fire restrictions were just lifted, going to be a busy 4th. Picture was taken early May. How much it's gone down since then depends on how thirsty Payson been..

I'm more about fishing than paddling to be honest. Horse Thief is starting to have some decent size bass in it. The lake was a good ten feet lower than usual for what that's worth.
