Hey yall,

I am in the process of getting my 1983 3B engine up and running and I pulled my very rusty oil pan. Once I cleaned the rust off I found several small holes in the pan. I’ve looked online for a solution and found 2 routes to go. Either I JB weld the pan or actually weld a patch on the pan. I prefer to do something that is more permanent. What do yall recommend?

Yes. Every 3B I have owned had a rusty oil pan… I’m not even sure if you would weld it Easley. It would blow through with too much heat.

Depending on the size of the hole and how much you care - I might just JB weld it. That’s what I would do.

Thanks for the tips. I think I might teach myself to braze weld this weekend. Should be fun. Thanks again.

Good luck practice on some scrap but it’s really easy like soldering.
