Guys,
The one I've been using for years is exactly like the one from Man-a-Fre...just didn't remember paying that much. As said above I woudln't use it for recovery, but it's worked great for M416, about 700lbs loaded, and my bike rack. If anyone finds it cheaper let me know, I think I picked it up from a canadian company last time around. Thanks.

This one?
From 4 Wleel Auto in Edmonton, AB

I've used it to tow a 2000lb fish boat.

Big thread here about this subject. I tow with my pintle hook all the time.

Timely thread for me.

I was thinking of adding a 2-in receiver to that 4-bolt crossmember area so I could use my bike carrier— and could still use my my tow bar with pintle hook for my CDN m101.

Seems like there is plenty of room and safe towing capacities with that arrangement.

I just installed a Curt Class III receiver (#13091), and a Tow Ready T-Connector (#118357). I ordered both from Amazon on Wednesday, and got both packages (one UPS, one Fed Ex) today.

Yes, I know the hitch is only as strong as the bumper, and the bumper isn't rated for towing, etc. :deadhorse: However, for the amount of time I'll use it, I didn't want the expense, and lost ground clearance, of a frame-mounted hitch. This was only $76.92 (no tax and free shipping), and I'll leave it off when I don't need it. When I do use it, it will be mostly to pull a 4 x 6 utility trailer, or carry a hitch rack. However, I may give the boat and trailer a try too?!

The hitch came with the 12mm x 1.25mm bolts needed for the threaded top holes. Instead of looking all over for fine-threaded metric nuts for the bottom holes, I just bought 1/2" grade 8 nuts, bolts and lock washers at my local Home Depot ($4.56).

The T-Connector ($31.42 including tax and shipping) was pretty much plug and play too, once I cleaned 16 years of dirt and grime off, and out, of the connections underneath.
