I was looking at the trail gear high steer conversion and they have a six stud and four stud kit. If you buy the six stud kit do you have to drill/tap your existing hubs or do you have to buy the six stud hubs? Also they offer a flat or curved pitman arm. What are the differences between the two? Advantages/disadvantages.

Right nwo the 6 shooter arms are on sale, and come with the hubs to match for $250. Not a bad deal if you need to strength they provide. You will need to buy 4 more studs, cone washers, lock washers, and nuts to go with them. Or you could replace all of the studs.

Yes, you have to drill/tap for the 6 stud arms.

The cheapest parts are not always the best deal......

NO, you cant drill and tap a toyota knuckle to put 6 shooters on it.

Do you know of a more expensive part that is better than the 6 shooters. you wont find a better deal on the 6 shooters than right now on sale. Ive NEVER seen a broken one.

Or are you offering bad advice when you have no clue what you are talking about?

It's ideal to get the six shooter knuckles and arms at the same time, if you have the cash for it. If not, you can buy just the 6 stud knuckles and run your 4 stud arms on them for now, or you can put the 6 stud arms on your existing 4 stud knuckles for now.

If you read through Trail-Gears online instructions you'll see they offer this option.
