I'm leaving a comment on here because I've got these headlights and need to come back to this they were already modified or something.

For anyone doing this swap yourselves just a word of caution. The chrome finish on the DEPO headlights and the chrome finish on the projector bezels that you get from places like The Retrofit Source is SUPER soft and pretty much just wipes off if you try to do a final wipe before re-assembling the lights.

Use absolutely NO alcohol, no solvents, no harsh cleaners of any kind.

I wiped a small section with 70% IPA to try and clean a piece of grey housing sealant that got on the chrome and it looks like I sanded the surface even though I was gentle and used a brand new microfiber towel. Then upon final wiping everything down using ONR (Optimum No Rinse) which is widely regarded as one of the most mild cleaners/quick detailers in the industry, I noticed the chrome is also rubbing off the edges on the chrome bezel another parts of the chrome housing. I’ve been in the detail industry for almost 2 decades now and have never seen anything like this. Whatever coating these guys use is just silly cheap stuff. You’ve been warned haha!

I guess just try not to touch any of the chrome at all and final wipe with water but even that might be too harsh.

Couple pics. Looks amazing after all said and done. Used the Morimoto Micro D2S (2.5”) projectors as @Luke111 recommended with E46-R bezel/centric rings with a few mods.

I’m getting OEM Hella ballasts and igniters as I have had amazing experiences with them before. I cannot say that about the Morimoto ballasts that have failed on us multiple times,

Also you can reuse your factory headlight trim, they are still available from the dealer too for the 95-97. The DEPO trim is the wrong color.

I'm about to put mine back together and will second this, the DEPO "chrome" coating is total crap and will scratch if you look at it wrong. My plan is to spray the housing out with a can of dust off (which I have done several times along this retrofit) and barely wipe with just water.

TIP: Mine were sealed with black sealant which despite my best efforts, I got some little strings on the housing and and clear plastic fronts. I looked all over the interned for something that would not damage the clear lenses/chrome housings or any thing else to remove it and stumbled upon someone using cooking oil and a microfiber towel. This took the sealant off easily for me causing no damage. BIG time saver!
