apologies in advance if this issue is in a thread somewhere else but here goes.

1988 HJ-61 JDM started to go solely on hi beams. my initial thought is loose wiring in steering column or the springs in the signal stock. in the meantime, ive adjusted all 4 lenses to act like lowbeams as to not get flashed on the highway, but these H4s are stuck on and draining the battery @ idle.

If they are on all the time that sounds like a relay problem to me.

Can you get low beam when you pull the stalk back? When you do that you get low and high beam together.

im gearing towards the same diagnosis, thanks for steering me in the right direction.

there isnt much of a different other than the blue indicator on my gauge clister. the stock pulled back focused the hi beams, but just bareley compared to standard night driving position.

Is there a cluster of relays up under dash?
