Last year, I removed my catalytic converters and successfully cleaned them. (See separate detailed write-up on the process.) When I removed the catalytic converters, I broken a couple of the bolts (studs?) on the flange from the manifold.
Since I had to replace the catalytic converters, I drilled out the broken bolts to the best of my ability and used nuts and bolts to secure the flanges together.
Last week, a couple of the nuts came loose. I'm not looking for (1) another way to secure the flanges, and (2) want to make sure Iseal the connection correctly.
Can anyone tell me what I can do to make sure I seal the joint? I don't want any leaks that affect my O2 sensors and stuff.
Does anyone know of a doohickey that I can use to fasten the flanges together, or should I just stick with the nuts-and-bolts solution? Is there anything I can do to make sure the nuts-and-bolts stay tight (e.g., during a trail ride)?
Thanks in advance for any advice.
Jason
