help with timing

urgent help with timing

We need help,
my son bought a remand 3vze for his 1994 toyota off ebay, Thay sent us a early 1992 or older long block in changing all the parts over we found the timing is different we bought a 1991 water pump,a new spring type tentioner , spring and a sping bracket but the parts dont seem to work.
Need advice Please

newbe,looking for diagrams of timming

we are new to this site and would appricate some help. we need to change the timming set up on a 3.0 6cyl (3vze) from a 1994 plunger type to a 1991 spring type we think we have all the parts , But what holds the tentioner wheel to the water pump, Only thing on the water pump is a pin with no threds. We have a hanes book but drawings are not verry discreptive.

I'm sorry, i am unfamiliar with this engine.

So you want to change from the spring to the plunger type tensioner? Are you missing parts from either engine?

Hay good job,
With your scans I think we have figured it out. On the bottom of the tentioner pully it sits on a pin on the water pump we could'nt figure out what kept the pully from coming off, Turns out on your pitcures there is bolt that goes threw
the center slot of the pully.

The book is the Factory Service Manual.
A publication made by Toyota.
Many ways to aquire them.

go directly to the dealer and ask if they would sell any of the used copies.

there are two volumes. Engine Mechanical and Chassis and body.

i paid $45.00

i have seen em generally sell for $100

Hay thanks guys you sure have helped alot.I talked to the toyota dealer several times and the parts dep. did'nt seem to know any thing ,adn the tecks did'nt seem to want to help.
