Help with the 2 screen tv in the back seat of 2017

I bought a Lightning to HDMI Cable adapter for my samsung phone. Used it on a smart TV to test. It worked great. Will not work in the HDMI input in the back seat. I got the music sound but no video at all.

Anyone have a solution?

Those screens only support 480p (640 × 480)

You'll have to set your phone to output at 480p. Normally negotiation of screen resolution is automatic.
So you might be hosed as your phone or that cable can't negotiate or just can't go that low.
I'm betting it's the cable.

The blank screen with sound only means everyone involved couldn't agree on a screen resolution.

Might try this as an alternative to an MHL cable. Reading around some had luck with these.
Otherwise I see folks going to something like the thread below.
