So, I installed a new harness for my MAF sensor (OEM), the tab had broken off the old one. Everything was fine on the vehicle before that. After installing the new harness I now have a check engine light (s). I'm starting to think that maybe I replaced the wires incorrectly.
I am getting the temperature reading from the MAF sensor as being - 40°. The FSM states that means there's an open circuit, maybe I fried something. I checked the EFI fuse and EFI relay, those are both fine.
The FSM also states that the fourth terminal should be the one putting out 9 to 14 volts, I am getting that voltage from the middle terminal. If someone can please share a picture of the back of their wiring harness, that would be great.
Such a simple task has become such a headache.

I can send you pic of mine later (2000) but this might help. Looks like your wire order is different than theirs...

Thank you. It looks like I have it wired correctly. Not sure what's going on then.

Do you have any old pictures of this area? May be able to check the wiring integrity.

Do a drag test with each pin. Use a proper sized male pin and slide into each female pin and see there is a good grab.

Appreciate the help. I messed around with it last night and figured out I fried the MAF sensor when I turned on the vehicle with the wires crossed. I found my old MAF sensor, it was a cheap AM one from the prior owner, and I was able to clear the codes.
I'll buy a new OEM one when they run the next sale.
The two middle wires are very close in color and I crossed them. That's what happens when you rush.

Yes, they did us dirty putting a yellow wire with black stripe next to a black wire with yellow stripe! 😂

Seriously. Made one of them pink or something.

Glad you sorted it out and it was the sensor not the ECU!

Do one wire at a time!

Unrelated: I converted the manual windows in my 92 prizm into power windows. All works but I got the + into - and - into +.. yes, the windows work 100% for past 19 years, but I cannot just install a new power window master door switch without some modifications inside the circuit. Electronics are always fun.

I used a picture from my phone, but that obviously wasn't good enough.
I did learn a lot though. I dusted off Volume 1 of the FSM and read the section on diagnosing electrical issues with the MAF sensor. I learned how to read the electric diagrams and how to use my multimeter to test relays and fuses.
I also learned how use my scan tool to read temperature and gm/s on the MAF sensor. All good in the end!
