Hi all - I recently did a mod to add an LX470 mirror fold switch to my 2000 LC as a way to disable my DRLs, I followed the instructions from the link below. After completing the mod, my check engine light and A/T OIL TEMP light came on. Truck will start and drive but won't shift out of first gear. Ran the code and it came back as p1780.
I figured something with the wiring on the dash went wrong when I was back there enabling one of the indicator lights to come on when DRLs were disabled, per the forum post below. Anyways, I went back and undid all the work I did bit by bit to see if I could pin point where the wiring went wrong but I undid all the steps and still facing this issue.
Anyone have any thoughts on what to check next, I'm at a bit of a loss. My only other guess is something on the circuit board got damaged when I was back there, although I was careful when removing and plugging/unplugging wires.

I recently got a LX power mirror switch and I wired up the mirror-fold button to control my DRLs similar to the TLC FAQ.
For feedback, I also wired an unused instrument cluster light to indicate when the DRLs are off.
Disabling the DRLs is mainly for off-highway use like pulling in/out of camps without blinding folks, and I wanted an obvious indicator when they're disabled.
First, here's the LX mirror switch. I scraped off the graphics from the mirror fold button with a razor blade.
In my '98 LC there are only four unused indicator lights in the cluster: Front...
