Help! New ARB Bull Bar Won't Fit (Tried Two Bumpers)

When I fitted my ARB the frame rails had spread outwards. I think I used a couple of ratcheting cargo straps to bring them together enough to get the ARB started. Once it got going it went on fairly easily.

@MANUCHAO and I (mostly him) did the same things. Get some beefy ratchet straps, a sledgehammer and a big block of wood(to pound the bumper in once you get a little bit of it on. Use the block to protect your bumper)

I have installed several, and this last one was a PITA I had to use a pipe clamp to pull the frame together , I think it is quality control, next time bottle jack

Mine was a bear too. Used grease on the rail ends, spaced using straps, and had to wiggle each end a little to get everything on.

Interesting read. I got the ARB because of a deal, and still like the style as cliche as it may be. Between the fitment issues that I and others mention here, and the PITA experience mounting a winch, I may have started with something else. Somewhere between buyers remorse and no regrets.

I’m with you here. Although once I knew how to install it (thanks to Mud), I’m still good with the value of the product. The whole Macguyvering only took about 30 minutes and I really like the looks of the ARB (not a fan of the pre-runner look) and the price is solid.

That being said, I just saw the Dobinson’s bull bars and their classic is inline with the ARB on price, features, and similar looks, so I think it’s safe to say there’s some growing competition out there. I feel like the TJM stuff was a bit bulky even more my tastes. The only other appealing design I found was AOE, but I wouldn’t touch that company with a 10 foot pole at this point after all I’ve read.

Thanks again everyone.
