hello,

I've got a set of 2007 LX470 wheels that i want to install on the 2008 Land Cruiser.

When we tried this, the wheel's back side touched the brake calipers even before the wheel could be pushed completely to let it sit properly. I want to make this work & was wondering if spacers will do the trick.

Is this the right approach?

How to know which size spacers are needed?

How are adapters different from spacers in terms of safety?

Will it also need different size lug nuts?

Thanks

Good question....i want to do this because my 2008 land cruiser has 17" wheels and i dont like them and because I imported the 18" LX470 wheels from the states & paid a lot of shipping cost for it & would now like to use them rather than sitting idle in the boxes.

This is what my 17" wheels look like:

Glad to see another 2008 LC owner here!

We would all love to see pics of your rig!!

Most definitely, show us some pics ......

So, this is how Toyota likes to describe the new 200 LC --"The styling theme of "Professional Trust" is expressed by merging a "new authentic dynamism" with a "technologically advanced feeling" and basing it upon the concepts "inheriting identity" and "modernizing heritage", already established by the Land Cruisers thus far."
Couldn't have said it better myself !!:rolleyes:

That quote is phenomenal. Where did you find it? I'm an attorney, and even I could not have come up with something that insipid.

Interesting that the middle east LC200 is offered w/ the 1GR and 2UZ as the gasoline options. I couldn't imagine having a 1GR pulling that much weight.

Sales and Marketing, gotta love 'em!

Adaptors not spacers.

How to know which size spacers are needed?

Measure!

I would say adaptors are more safe since you retain the full stud length.

Will it also need different size lug nuts?

I would use the lug nuts that came with the LX470 wheels but they may be the same. It should be easy to compare your lug nuts to an older model.

I have to say, I'm really starting to like the LC200 looks. I've seen a lot of the new Highlanders on the road and I don't think I could mistake them for one another. The 200, like all LCs, is a beast.

Are those the stock rims on the base model in the middle east?

no they come on this truck

but ppl mount them on the 100's a lot and its the 200's turn which make the 200 look waaaaaaay better

Ok I am so confused!

The Land Cruiser will be my daily driver and the tires you indicated are great for desert use but will not provide any grip during acceleration or braking on the road.

I have the FJ Cruiser for desert use and all the performance tires & modifications are being directed at the FJ :)

I thought that the 2008 LC has 18" as standard equipment.
