Rust Pic (could this be undercoated and handled?)

Low miles for the age (this is the plus)

2 owner, NY owned (hence the rust), Accident early in life - No indication on where the accident occurred but would definitely get a pre-purchase inspection before committing (to understand if the structure or mechanics were compromised)

Should I consider a pre-purchase inspection or should I STAY AWAY?

I would run from it but I am from the south. Rust scares us down here. Did you set up a lexus owners account and input the vin number to review the service history.

It has been on thier lot since December 2018 so you should have a lot of negotiating power.

I found this in the service history.

For a data point I got a 15 LC (not an LX - too ugly!) in Athens GA for $41k with similar miles but 100% spotless, perfect Carfax and maintenance,, 1 owner, dealer serviced since day 1, sold at the original dealership who sold it new, blah blah blah.

Cheap isnt always a bargain.

I guess I look at rust a bit differently as it's just a fact of life in coastal environments - frame rust like this (it looks like surface) can be wire brushed and fluid filmed (with salt away application every spring/as needed with FF reapplied). If really concerning you can always POR15 and paint the frame

More important to me, what do the brake lines, AHC lines/system, front suspension and wheel hub assys look like? How much rust is there?

I personally would pass...
Worth flying to CA or other sunny/no-snow-treatment states and driving a truck home if you can’t find better.

Plus...that’s just the rust you can SEE...on the easy-to-car-wash bottom frame...

Depends.

Millions of vehicles are rusty and people still drive and maintain them.

If this is a vehicle you plan to have a few years and leave it stock, the rust probably won't bother you.

If you plan to do mods and/or own for a long time it may be better going with a cleaner version.

This to me is key. Surface frame rust is not a problem from my POV, but brackets, brake lines, connectors and exhaust are more of a problem. I'd look into that more than anything else.

I am from down here in Ga. I would never buy that. I bought a southern 2011 LC last year for a little less money with a little less miles as well. Rust is not going to stop or go away. It will slow but it is always going to be there.,

I'd keep searching... you can definitely find a better deal than that.
Almost 100k in NY, there's going to be a good amount of rust on everything. I bought a 13 daily in VA that was from NY and only had 40k, struts were rusted out along with other parts that I didn't look at because I was excited about the price. Thankfully since it was a CPO my extended warranty covered the bill

CA or other SMOGGY no snow treatment states.

Hard no.

Frame damage of any kind isn't worth the trouble since you won't ever be 100% sure of the extent until you buy it and issues pop up. You'll find another good deal, just keep looking.
