I’m between these 2 trucks:

2006 LX, 170k miles, no rust, clean carfax, all maintenance but will need a timing belt soon.

2018 LC, 100k miles, no rust, clean carfax, all maintenance, but likely will need radiator/water pump in the next 30-50k miles

Long time lurker, first time buyer been waiting for the right truck. I’m torn between these 2 and I was hoping to gather some opinions from those who have owned these years.

A bit of a strange cross shopping, but have done so myself.

This is a 200 series section, so most will say to go with a 2018LC. Though I think even the majority in the 100 series section would say to go with the 2018LC.

Radiators are like a 1/4 of banana job on these rigs. Hell I did it on an LC200 with 12k miles, simply for peace of mind and boredom. Took me a few hours and a couple of beers.

Having had both, it depends on what you want to do. As a weekend truck, mostly local trips, light to no towing, I prefer the 100 series platform. Easily removable 3rd row, rear vent windows, more classic feel, smooth (if less powerful) 4.7L V8.
If you're going to do long trips or tow much, 200 series all the way.

2018 LC. I love mine.

2018. No doubt, no ragrets.
